The squad...

The rest of them...

Left wing: Dan Thompson
With pace to burn and a wide array of skills and technique on the ball, it is nigh impossible to put his abilities into words, far better to imagine a cross between Marc Overmars in his prime and Ryan Giggs. Last seasons top goal scorer. The first name in anyones 'fantasy hockey 11'.Probably.

Striker: Arik Freeman

The only Legend with corporate sponsorship (from Rothmans), Arik is able to move upfield past oppositon defences disguised in a blue fug and if he happens to be awake at the time, also score a goal. Famous for his solo strike against Oxford Hawks in the 2007/8 season.

Centre half: Gary Arthurs

One of the pistons that keeps the engine of the team going. Firebrand Gary is known for his verbal outburts and collection of green cards, however his dribbling, passing and all round play mark him out as a key player. One to watch for 2009!

Central defence: Geoff Halsall

One of the most popular legends ever to don the famous jersey of
Tring HC, Geoff 'evergreen' Halsall is English oak through and through and a bastion of defence in the centre of the park.

Centre half/central defence: Dave Ferguson

For Fergie, the hockey pitch is like a coliseum, an arena to do battle; indeed if he took to the pitch with a battleaxe and kilt rather than a hockey stick, there would be little discernible difference in his play. Passion, pride and commitment: he is a highland warrior through and through. One of our most notable overseas signings.

Central defence: Fraser Cunningham

Measuring over 6' 8" tall and with an astounding size 15 feet, Fraser is the Colossus of the thirds. This powerhouse is ideal for the big crunch games, a practical siege gun used to intimidate the opposition. The second of our overseas signings, a veritable force to be reckoned with.

Striker: Tom Burrows

The pocket rocket, Tom is the speedster in the pack who can tap and go past the old fogies he comes up against most weeks. A recent ascent from the developments, this is a youth prodigy of the future.

Left Back: Russell Arthurs

A hot tip for Young Legend of the Year, Russell Arthurs is a dynamic left back, frequently making incursions into opposition territory whilst packing a punch in defence that belies his tender years.

Goalkeeper: Bess

No friend of time is Bess, who will arrive on match days according to his own body clock, which is about one hour later than GMT. Once present however, this is a man who will put his body on the line in defence of goal. Fearsome charges and desperate goal mouth lunges means he is not easy to beat (unless we are playing rover oxford...)

Defence: Chris Aitkens

This is another of the youthful legends - a versatile player who is as comfortable in defence as in midfield. With a firm tackle and ability to see the space with his passes, he can turn a game Trings way.
